Every child deserves a chance!

Community development in the Swartland, South Africa

We offer quality education in a disadvantaged community.  A multifunctional space in a well-designed preschool building is used for various community activities. Download our brochure for more information about our new De Hoop project.

We would appreciate your support to raise R1.5 million (US$80,000) to complete the construction of our school buildings!

Our 2025 mission begins with the Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centre and Community Hub in De Hoop, Malmesbury.

Phase 1 of this centre has been completed and the first 60 children will start there in May.  We still need funding to complete the second phase, which includes more classrooms and a community space and will serve as a resource for families through training, community gatherings and development activities.  When the whole structure is complete, it will nurture over 120 children aged 12 months to 5 years.

By supporting this initiative, whether through financial donations or practical participation, you will empower children and adults to choose to escape the cycle of poverty by taking ownership and by embracing self-worth over reliance and handouts.

If our mission and vision resonate with you, please consider joining hands with us.

It takes time, but respectful engagement with the community opens doors to collaboration; and children who receive excellent education in a caring space spread hope – and hope is contagious and inspiring… and when it teams up with collaboration and ownership, hope becomes sustainable.

It takes a village to raise a child – and the village is transformed while doing so.

SPONSOR A CHILD

The cost per child in our school is R1,600 per month, of which the parents contribute R400 per month for full day care and meals – and this is as much as parents from this community can afford.

The Education Department usually contributes R17 per child per day, but due to funding changes that came along in December 2024, they will not register any new ECD centres for grants soon. This means that we must sustain the school through 2025 and possibly into 2026,

Should you prefer this direct online donation option, please take note that the PayFast processing fee is 5% and the full donation amount will therefore not be reflected on the 18A certificate. Click here to request an 18A certificate, please.
